“There is “me in you”: my body is made of other bodies, the same stuff that makes my body makes your body too, and the force that animates all these processes and bodies is one and the same.”
/Vanessa de Oliveira Andreotti/
Our bodies carry experiences and stories, they are full of wisdom and power. Our bodies experience joy and pleasure and sadness and pain, our bodies are affected by social structures. Our bodies influence how we move through the world. Our bodies are homes for us for this life.
Through body mapping, you are invited to deepen your relationships with your body, examine your own perceptions and recalibrate sensitivity towards it. It can help you to better understand and explore your own life and find sources of strength and power. We will use drawing and painting and other art-based techniques, we will use our imaginations, we will be talking and sharing, and we will also take quiet times for just thinking and reflecting on what is happening for us. It is an invitation to embark on the journey of getting to know oneself better and finding the “you in me” that embodied awareness offers us. All bodies are invited.
